here's some terminology that might help you IN CHOOSIING THE CORRECT COLOR SERVICE:
higHLIgHTING/Foils:
A more traditional method of lightening that has been around for a long time. We typically foil A LOT! There are a large variety of techniques/patterns that can be used to create different looks. Foils provide heat conduction for lifting power and can tend to leave a more obvious grow-out line, but if you want to be bright and light, this is the way to do it.
Ombré:
A defined style. Ombré is a quick, short gradation of color from dark to light, with all of the hair ends being affected. This look is for those that want to make more of a color statement.
Balayage:
Originating from the French word “to sweep,” Balayage is just that! Lightener is painted on in a sweeping, free-hand motion from the bottom up and typically processes in the open-air. This technique creates a softer, blended transition from dark to light, giving a lower maintenance, natural look. Please keep in mind, a true Balayage loves to be warm and soft!
Foilyage:
A technique very similar to Balayage, but with placing the painted hair section in foils for extra lightening power. We tend to do this for our guests who want extra light ends or cooler tones while still maintaining a soft transition up into a deeper base color.
Color Retouch: This is typically done every four to six weeks, depending on how fast your hair grows and the contrast between your natural color and the dyed color. A hair color retouch ensures a seamless blend between your roots and the dyed hair, maintaining a uniform color from root to tip.

Full Color:
A full-color service is one single color applied from the roots to the ends of the hair with no dimension and the color is fluid throughout all of the hair. This type of service is ideal for clients who love the look of one solid color throughout the hair.
Toner:
A toner will tone, color-correct, and refresh hair color while enhancing your hair's natural shine. It changes the tone of your hair, and it refers to anything that has some pigment to enhance, brighten, and tone your hair color after it is dyed. Toning is the process of removing brassy tones and overall correcting your hair color to the actual color you desire.
Bleach & Tone:
A bleach and tone service involves the process of applying bleach in section to the entire head to a pale yellow or white level and then applying a toner to get the desired undertone
Gloss:
A gentler form of hair color, a gloss is a low commitment hair color service that provides hair with high shine and a subtle wash of color while improving the look and feel of hair. It helps give richness, depth. Glosses can be used as a final touch to any permanent hair color service, a stand-alone color or color correcting service, or on natural hair to boost vibrancy and shine.
And glosses aren't just for coloring hair. There are actually two types of hair glosses: tinted and clear. While tinted glosses provide the color pigment you expect from hair color, there are also clear gloss treatments with all the healthy hair benefits! A clear gloss will enhance your natural hair color and condition your strands, leaving your hair vibrant, shiny, and healthier than before.
A consultation with your stylist is always recommended, so they can help you choose the right technique for your hair goals. Sometimes multiple techniques are used to customize a color that is just right for you.
And remember, a hair goal is not always achieved in just one visit - But don’t stress - We got you!
